My Two Cents 9/28/07

This will be a new thing that I will try to keep up with starting every Saturday. I will talk about the upcoming week of films, the past week’s films and basically anything movie related that I want off my chest.

Alright this week we have The Game Plan hitting theaters and obviously it’s a Disney film. Disney is really good at what they do. They have little Madison Pettis who si from a show called Cory In The House which is shown on what television channel? That’s right, the Disney Channel. Ok that’s all good and fine but if you looked around the Disney channel long enough you saw The Rock on said show and also guest star in an episode of Hannah Montana. So if you think Disney doesn’t know how to create ads for themselves they you are stupid.

There is also more than five films that come out every week and it’s difficult to really take a look at all of them for the masses. One that escaped me is a film called Postal. It’s based on the video game of the same name. Now I don’t know how many people actually played the game but i would think not a whole lot. The reason for this film beats me. It does have a decent cast. Zack Ward from BloodRayne 2 and Resident Evil: Apocalypse and maybe this one. J.K. Simmons is also in there with Dave Foley and Verne Troyer who plays the character himself to perfection.

So what’s coming out this week wanting to take your precious money? We have The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising and The Heartbreak Kid. Both will be battling it out for the title of number one at the box office. So who should win? Let’s see we have The Seeker this one is geared towards the kids and young adults. You can think of it as Narnia and Harry Potter and it’s also based on the novel The Dark Is Rising. Next is The Heartbreak Kid which is a remake of the 1972 film, Heartbreak. This one stars Ben Stiller and Malin Akerman. Think of any other Ben Stiller movie and you get the picture of what this one is about. So who will win at the box office? Book vs Remake? I’m going with remake.

Hopefully I will much more next week. Maybe more movie bashing and goodies.

First Wall-E Poster

Take this poster for whatever you want because it could very well be a fake.

It’s been said that this is a fake due to the similarity that it’s basically a piece of footage from the film as a poster.
Just a little info for you guys, this is the next Pixar film and it looks like it could be a very good one. I haven’t seen too much of the film but it looks great and does really have a good story to it.

T.J. Storm To Play Maginty In Punisher: War Zone

Lexi Alexander has updated her website confirming that T.J. Storm has been cast to play Maginty in her Punisher: War Zone film.

The Kingdom

An FBI agent played by Jamie Foxx, and his team are dispatched to a formerly off-limits Middle Eastern kingdom to find those responsible for a bombing that claimed the lives of American workers in Riyadh.

The cast in The Kingdom is solid with Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, Chris Cooper and Jason Bateman. It’s weird to see Bateman in this type of film so it will be interesting to see if he can pull this off. The film looks great and Jamie Foxx is claiming that you won’t be able to move the last 30 minutes of the film that’s how great it is.

Behind the camera is actor turned director Peter Berg this is one big project for him and he looks like he could handle the challege very well.

So sad news about this film is three crew members lost their lives while filming was going on. It must have been extremely difficult to continue but you have to for their sake.

The film looks great and with Foxx and Garner as the stars it should do well at the theaters when it hits this Friday September 28.
