The early numbers are in and it looks like Resident Evil: Extinction took home the number one spot at the box office ranking in $24 million. Good Luck Chuck came in second with a respectable $14 million. The Brave One drops down to the third spot with it’s ten day gross of $25 million.
The other new comers to the board such as Sydney White came in at number 6 with a little over $5 million. The Sean Penn film Into The Wild brought in $212 thousand. The Jane Austen Book Club brought in $160 thousand. As The Assassination Of Jesse James took in $144 thousand not too bad since it was only shown in five theaters.
Some of the these films were shown on only fifty theaters or less. I’m not too sure if all of them will get the nation wide push but we will see very soon.
